The short version

This app does not sell or share your personal information. There are no accounts, no email sign-up, no ads, and no analytics or tracking. The only data that leaves your device is what you choose to enter in group learning (see below).

What stays on your device

Your learning progress, bookmarks, notes, and display settings (theme, fonts, text size) are saved only on your device. They are never sent to the developer or to any server, except as described under Group learning. If you delete the app or clear its data, they are removed.

Group learning (shloshim and siyum campaigns)

If you organize or join a group-learning campaign, the following is stored on my server (hosted on Cloudflare, at mishna.baderech.app): the names you enter, the dedication text (for example, who the learning is in honor or memory of), the siyum date, which perakim were claimed, and whether they are marked complete, plus random link tokens that act as your private key. There are no accounts and no email addresses, and nothing is used for tracking.

Anyone who has a campaign’s link can see its dedication, the participants’ names, and which perakim are claimed and completed. Share the link only with people you want to see that. Your personal and organizer links are secret; anyone who has one can act on your behalf.

Organizers can remove participants. You can remove yourself at any time with “Remove me”, which deletes your name and claims from the server. Campaigns are deleted automatically 90 days after the siyum date. Inappropriate campaigns can be reported in the app or by emailing mattaniah@beezyworks.com, and may be taken down.

Content

The Mishnah text and commentary are bundled inside the app, so reading works offline. The web version loads the same text from the website it is served from. The app does not contact Sefaria or any other third party while you use it.

Web version

If you use the website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operations. The website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

If you email mattaniah@beezyworks.com, I will receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. I use it only to reply, and I do not share it.

Links to other sites

The About screen links to Sefaria and to Ko-fi. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

Children

Reading and studying in the app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information. Group learning stores the names people enter and is not directed at children under 13; a parent can remove a child’s name with “Remove me” or by emailing me.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version and date will appear on this screen.
